Rag Quilt - Finished!
The quilt took about 7 yards of fabric and cost me around $20. Surprisingly, it didn't take much time to put together. Cutting out hundreds of 6" squares isn't a pleasant prospect. With all the "services" you can pay for these days, someone should open a quilt piece cutting service. Surely there are people out there who would pay someone else to do their dirty work.
The only other challenge with this was clipping all the raw edges. Geh. The sewing took two nights of work tops. The clipping took me 2 weeks to finish. My hands were cramping up and I went through two pairs of scissors. Next time I make this one, I'll invest in one of those sharp little spring-loaded sets.
Until I sent it through the wash I wasn't sure I really even liked the quilt that much - especially given the massive time and effort the clipping took. But a simple trip through the machine fluffed up all the seams and made it really cute.

Detail so you can see the motion quilting I chose instead of doing boring "x" quilts on each square. I used stars, hearts, swirls, lazy patterns and wrote in cursive on some of the blocks.
